All About the Donuts: Local Donut Shop Review – Krispy Kreme – Issaquah, WA

Krispy Kreme Donuts

Issaquah, WA

6210 E Lake Sammamish Pkwy SE, Issaquah, WA 98029

(425) 391-8011

Review criteria:

Most popular donut at the shop: Original Glazed
Signature shop donut: NA
Most popular US donut: glazed
2nd most popular US donut: Chocolate Kreme
Donut Hole: Glazed

What I tried:

Chocolate kreme, original glazed, and maple bar

$3.85 total

What to expect:

The chocolate and maple glaze are truly atrocious and too sweet. The yeast flour would be delicious if not covered by a too thick layer of sickly sweet glaze. Not worth the price of $3.85 for three donuts.  Happy 80th to the original glazed. The worst fresh glazed donut I’ve had.

My favorite:

The shop is definitely cool and they display their heavy duty looking machinery through display glass and you can watch the donuts being created while you enjoy your too-sweet donuts.

  1. I so agree with you. Krispy Kreme is WAY too sweet. I tried them when they took the NW by storm, and the glazed are tolerable when served fresh and warm, but I just didn’t understand what all the fuss was about. On the up side, that craze brought donuts back to popularity in general. It was all about muffins until they arrived on the scene.
