Rachel Barnard’s Review Policy and Format
I am not a professional reviewer, however, I am an avid reader and writer and know a thing or two about writing and books. Each review is based on my own personal thoughts and interpretations of the book and will be an honest review. I do not take payment for reviews. I do not work on any set deadlines as I have a busy schedule and will not always get to the book in as timely a manner as I would like. I read print books and ebooks (and listen to audiobooks). I will not return any materials that are sent to me. Reviews will be posted on my blog, Amazon and Goodreads. If the author so wishes, I can post the review on other sites as well. For books that are free/$0.99, I am more likely to read them or put them higher on my TBR list.
Each review will have, at minimum, the following components: Photo of the Book Cover Title Author Genre of the Book Release Date, if applicable Summary/Synopsis of the Book My Personal Review of the Book A Rating on a 1-5 scale (My TLDR stars) – will be rounded up on sites that utilize whole numbers although I am not so confined 4.5 – 5: Nostalgic memories of great novels from childhood, books I’d read again and push onto anyone I know is a reader, a wonderful novel in every way 4.0: A book I would recommend but maybe not read again for quite a few years, novels I enjoyed for any number of reasons 3.5: Books that I took issue with on some aspect but still make a great novel, might recommend to certain persons for certain reasons 2.5 – 3.0: Books I wouldn’t recommend due to large amount of issues or mountainous problems, books I probably wouldn’t read again or recommend, books that may fall out of my preferred genres A link to the author’s blog/website (if applicable and wanted)
The type of books that I like to review are (In no particular order): Young Adult, Low Fantasy, Science Fiction, Historical Fiction, Speculative Fiction, General Fiction, Chick Lit, Science Fantasy, Fairy Tales
